The MAG 18 offers variable wattage (VW) and temperature control (TC) modes. While the VW mode is the standard for most users, the device allows for precise adjustments. To unlock the device, clicking the fire bar three times is the standard protocol, a safety feature to prevent accidental firing in pockets or bags. The "best" practice for navigation involves mastering the "Plus/Minus" buttons not just for power, but for navigating the menu system to check battery resistance, voltage, and puff counters. Customizing the screen color via the device settings allows users to personalize their interface, adding a layer of user engagement that goes beyond simple utility.
