Din’s life takes a magical turn when he stumbles upon a mystical teapot containing (voiced by John Cho), a sarcastic, powerful, and noodle-loving dragon. Long has the power to grant three wishes. Instead of asking for wealth or fame, Din uses his wishes to try and reconnect with Li Na, who has been swept into a world of high-class luxury.

This is where the film achieves its depth. It deconstructs the very fantasy it sells. For the audience watching in dual audio—perhaps a family gathered in a living room, switching between the language of their new reality (English) and the language of their heritage (Hindi)—this message lands with a heavy, beautiful weight.
