If the standard Windows 10 drivers aren't working, the original Windows 8.1 driver usually does the trick. Windows 10 is excellent at running older drivers in "Compatibility Mode."

Microsoft actually maintains a legacy driver catalog. As of 2026, this still works. Have a unique issue not covered here

HP’s official driver page for this model, as of the last update, lists the audio driver as version 6.10.6491.0 (or similar), released in 2015 . This driver was originally written for Windows 8.1.
