In this collection of three stories, an emotionally abused
wife finds comfort in the arms of her brother-in-law, a young
dancer undertakes an erotic and redemptive pilgrimage to Rome
involving live sex shows and nude photography, and a femme
fatale looks into a mirror as she recalls a sadomasochistic
love affair...
Try
imagining an erotic version of Alfred Hitchcock Presents,
and you'll have some idea of what this DVD series is like.
Only less well made. Producer Tinto Brass has little direct
involvement with these short films, apart from introducing
each one while puffing away characteristically on a cigar,
and making the occasional cameo appearance.
Though
the productions claim to have been directed in the "Tinto
Brass style", there is scant evidence of it here. Only in
A Magic Mirror is there any hint of Brass's eccentricity,
in the grotesque character of a brusque layabout husband (Ronaldo
Ravello), who spends much of his screen time lounging around
in a bath, like the captain of the B-Ark in The Hitchhiker's
Guide to the Galaxy. But, although this tale displays
the most humour in the entire collection, it also shows off
the least amount of bare flesh, which is surely another important
ingredient that the audience will be expecting.
Things
get sexier in Julia, the story from which this collection
takes its name, which includes some particularly explicit
and highly charged sex scenes. Unfortunately, the plot is
almost totally incomprehensible - something to do with a dancer
(Anna Biella) going to Rome, but wildly at odds with the description
on the back of the sleeve, which mentions a photographer's
three beautiful models. I counted two of them at the most.
This production is also blighted by amateurish editing, which
leaves several gaping holes in the soundtrack. Oh well, at
least this DVD is subtitled, which spares us from woeful English
dubbing of the type recently heard on Brass's Private.
The
final tale, I Am the Way You Want Me, is a very weird
and nasty little minx. In it, a naked woman (Fiorella Rubino)
sprawls around in her bathroom, mouthing various strange utterances
to camera, and doing erotic things to herself, such as shaving
with a fearsome-looking cutthroat razor (shudder). And that's
about it.
A
further disappointment is the lack of any extra features.
So, all in all, this DVD has left me feeling rather brassed
off!

Behind the Silver Screen: Exclusive Bollywood Actress Relationships and the Romantic Storylines That Mirror Reality
In the glittering, high-octane universe of Bollywood, the line between real life and reel life is not just thin—it is often invisible. For decades, audiences have been obsessed not only with the blockbuster romances playing out on 70mm screens but also with the exclusive Bollywood actress relationships that dominate tabloid covers and water-cooler conversations.
We watch actresses fall in love in Swiss Alps and London fog, but the drama, heartbreak, and fairy-tale endings of their real-life romantic storylines often surpass the scripts written for them. From secret liaisons that broke the internet to power couples who redefine marriage goals, this deep dive explores the most iconic real-life love stories of Bollywood actresses and how their on-screen romantic storylines have eerily—or beautifully—mirrored their personal journeys.
The Allure of the “Exclusive” Narrative
Why are we so captivated by the romantic lives of Bollywood actresses? Partly because of the exclusivity. In an industry built on public appearances, a hidden relationship becomes the ultimate currency. When an actress like Deepika Padukone or Alia Bhatt chooses to keep a romance under wraps, every stolen glance at an award show or cryptic Instagram story becomes a clue in a national treasure hunt.
These exclusive relationships often play out in two parallel tracks:
The Real Track: High-profile weddings, shocking breakups, and second chances.
The Reel Track: The scripted love stories they sell to us on screen.
Sometimes, these tracks merge into a super-hit. Other times, they collide in a box-office disaster of the heart.
Case Study 1: Deepika Padukone & Ranveer Singh – When Reel Chemistry Became Real Forever
Perhaps no contemporary love story defines the phrase "exclusive Bollywood actress relationships" better than that of Deepika Padukone and Ranveer Singh . For years, the duo worked together on blockbusters like Goliyon Ki Raasleela Ram-Leela , Bajirao Mastani , and Padmaavat .
The On-Screen Romantic Storyline
In Ram-Leela (2013), they played the tragic, passionate lovers from rival clans. The storyline was drenched in blood, fire, and raw desire. It was a modern-day Romeo & Juliet where their eyes did more talking than the dialogue. Critics noted that the "intensity" was too real to be just acting. Their on-screen romantic storyline was one of obsession—a feeling that would later define their off-screen courtship.
The Exclusive Real-Life Track
For years, they denied dating. They kept their relationship an exclusive secret while setting the screen on fire. When they finally confirmed their love and married in Lake Como in 2018, it wasn't just a wedding; it was a culmination of the most explosive off-screen romance of the decade. Their real relationship mirrored the Bajirao Mastani arc—defying norms, facing public scrutiny, yet emerging victorious. Today, they are the gold standard for Bollywood power couples, proving that when exclusive romantic storylines transition from script to reality, the result is legendary.
Case Study 2: Katrina Kaif & Vicky Kaushal – The Secret That Shook the Nation
If Deepika and Ranveer were an open secret, Katrina Kaif and Vicky Kaushal were a locked vault. For years, Katrina, one of the industry’s most guarded actresses, was linked to a galaxy of stars. But her exclusive relationship with National Award-winner Vicky Kaushal remained a ghost.
The On-Screen Romantic Storyline
Interestingly, before their wedding, Katrina and Vicky never shared screen space as leads. Their romantic storyline didn't exist on film—it existed entirely in paparazzi parking lot shots and "friendship" claims. This absence made their real-life romance even more intriguing.
The Exclusive Real-Life Track
The wedding in December 2021 at Sawai Madhopur Fort was a masterclass in exclusivity. No phones, no leaks until the couple decided. Their relationship felt like a classic Bollywood screenplay: Act 1 – Rumors and denials. Act 2 – Unexpected confirmation. Act 3 – A fairy-tale wedding. Unlike her previous high-profile relationship that was scrutinized to death, Katrina’s journey with Vicky mirrored the romantic storyline of a mature, second-inning love—quiet, secure, and devastatingly beautiful. It taught fans that sometimes, the best exclusive Bollywood relationships are the ones you never see coming.
The Tragedy Track: When Real Heartbreak Mirrors Reel Pain
Not every exclusive Bollywood actress relationship ends in a wedding march. Some end in gut-wrenching splits that provide more drama than any masala film.
The Ranbir Kapoor Effect
Ranbir Kapoor has been the common denominator in two of the most talked-about romantic storylines in Bollywood history. exclusive bollywood actress madhuri dixit sex scandal fixed
Deepika & Ranbir: Their off-screen breakup was as public as their Bachna Ae Haseeno romance. Deepika once admitted to feeling "betrayed" and "lonely." Interestingly, their on-screen reunion in Yeh Jawaani Hai Deewani (where she plays a girl who quietly loves a commitment-phobic man) echoed their real-life dynamic so perfectly that fans cried watching the film, knowing the meta-narrative. The exclusive details of their fights and reconciliations became the stuff of legend.
Katrina & Ranbir: For six years, this was the most exclusive and speculated relationship. They never officially admitted it while it lasted, but the Jagga Jasoos promotional tour was awkward with a capital A. Their real-life breakup happened around the same time their on-screen romantic storyline in Jagga Jasoos (a chaotic, unfinished love story) was failing at the box office. Life imitated art, and the art flopped.
Aishwarya Rai & Salman Khan – The Cautionary Tale
Before she became the global icon Mrs. Abhishek Bachchan, Aishwarya Rai was part of Bollywood’s most volatile exclusive relationship with Salman Khan. Their on-screen pairing in Hum Dil De Chuke Sanam is iconic—a story of a woman married to one man while loving another. Off-screen, the relationship was stormy, involving public altercations and legal battles.
Aishwarya’s romantic storyline in real life was a thriller rather than a romance. It wasn't until she starred with Abhishek Bachchan in Guru and Dhoom 2 that her real-life narrative shifted to a family drama with a happy ending.
The Metamorphosis: From Reel Rivals to Real Soulmates
One of the most fascinating trends in exclusive Bollywood actress relationships is the "enemies-to-lovers" trope playing out behind the camera.
Priyanka Chopra & Nick Jonas
While Priyanka is now a global citizen, her Bollywood romantic storylines were always larger-than-life. But her real-life exclusive relationship with Nick Jonas broke the internet because it transcended Bollywood. Their 2018 wedding was a fusion of cultures, and the speed of their romance (met, dated, engaged in two months) was the ultimate fantasy. It mirrored the over-the-top, whirlwind romantic storylines she used to star in ( Anjaana Anjaani ), except this time, the lead actor was an American pop star.
Alia Bhatt & Ranbir Kapoor
This is the meta-romance of the century. Alia Bhatt grew up admitting she had a crush on Ranbir Kapoor. Years later, not only did she star opposite him in Ae Dil Hai Mushkil (where she plays a woman in unrequited love—ironic, given the outcome), but she also landed the exclusive relationship every fan dreamed of.
Their on-screen romantic storyline in Brahmāstra was about eternal love ("Shiva and Isha"). Their real-life relationship mirrored that perfectly, culminating in a wedding and a daughter. Alia managed to do what no other actress could: she turned her fan-girl fantasy into a permanent, exclusive reality.
Why These Storylines Dominate Our Imagination
The obsession with exclusive Bollywood actress relationships and romantic storylines isn't just gossip—it is narrative therapy. We watch these women navigate love in the public eye because it validates our own private hopes and fears.
Permission to Dream: When Alia gets her Ranbir or Deepika gets her Ranveer, it tells the common person that timing is everything and that on-screen magic can be real.
Schadenfreude: When a power couple splits, we feel a collective relief that even the rich and beautiful hurt like we do.
The Script of Life: These actresses are essentially writing the most-watched soap opera in the country, using their lives as the script. Madhuri Dixit: A Legacy of Grace and Artistic
The Future of Exclusive Bollywood Romance
As Bollywood evolves, so do the romantic storylines. Today’s actresses like Janhvi Kapoor , Sara Ali Khan , and Ananya Panday are handling exclusive relationships differently—some choosing to be completely open on Koffee With Karan , others choosing digital privacy. The era of "deny-deny-deny" is fading, replaced by "acknowledge-but-don't-explain."
But one thing remains constant: The hunger for the exclusive scoop. We will continue to dissect every song picturization, every filmi dialogue, and every Instagram post, looking for clues of a real-life romance.
After all, Bollywood taught us one thing: Picture abhi baaki hai, mere dost. (The picture is still incomplete, my friend.)
In the end, the most compelling romantic storyline isn't written by Javed Akhtar or Shankar-Ehsaan-Loy. It is written daily by the actresses who dare to love, break, and rebuild under the relentless glare of the spotlight. And we, the audience, will always be here for the next exclusive chapter.
