So, when you see that 9th grader come home exhausted with a grass stain on their shorts, don't ask if they won the game. Ask if they tried their best. Because in the hidden curriculum of the gym, that is the only grade that matters.
If you have a medical reason (asthma, heart condition, severe social anxiety disorder), see your school nurse or counselor before the first class. They can secure a modified PE (Adapted PE) plan. For general nervousness: remember that everyone else is looking at themselves, not you.
